Meet the Storyteller Behind Indian Creek Historical Fashions
Bringing History to Life
History is not just something I study.
It is something I carry.
I am Rayma Volkmer, founder of Indian Creek Historical Fashions, living historian, historical interpreter, and storyteller. Through immersive living history programs, historically accurate clothing, and emotionally driven interpretation, I help audiences move beyond names and dates to encounter the people behind the past.
Why This Work Matters to Me
This work is deeply personal. My great-grandmother homesteaded in western Nebraska, raising her children on the prairie. My grandmother was born in a sod house in 1923. These stories are not distant to me. They are part of my inheritance, my calling, and my passion.
What I Bring to Every Program
With more than 20 years of living history experience, I create programs that are educational, visually compelling, and emotionally resonant. My presentations are rooted in research, authenticity, and human connection. I do not simply present history. I invite audiences to step inside it.
Who I Serve

If you want a program that does more than inform — if you want one that stirs hearts, sparks thought, and stays with audiences long after the event ends — let’s talk.
